Another First Kiss

She adjusted her skirt and smoothed down her hair before he showed up. He texted her that he would be late. She ordered a coffee and sipped nervously as she waited for him. Every time she did this she wondered if it would be a good connection or a waste of time. It was worth taking the risk to meet the good ones.      He walked in and gave her a smile that made her thankful that she had said "yes". He pulled up a chair and they talked as if they had known each other for an eternity. She liked his tousled dark hair and his lively brown eyes. She glanced at his lips and wondered what it would be like to kiss him. They laughed and eventually the date had to end. He gave her a hug and they parted ways. She was dreaming about a report for work that she was presenting. It was odd because the people in the room started banging their fists on the table. "Kelly!" she heard. Oh no she thought as the table full of people disappeared and she saw her bed surrounding her. She pushed herself out of bed. She took a quick look in the bathroom mirror. Her coppery curls were falling in all directions. She threw on her worn black robe and went to the front door.       Through the peephole, she saw David. He was dressed for the hike and he looked cozy. He was wearing a plaid shirt under his fluffy jacket. He hadn't shaved and his dark hair was still damp, so he wasn't exactly a morning person either.
